What Is a Non Woven Roll?

Spunbond fabric wound on a core, sold by weight and width.

A non woven roll is spunbond fabric wound continuously on a paper core. Polymer granules are melted, extruded into filaments, laid into a web and thermally bonded, then slit and wound — no weaving, no knitting. Because the roll comes straight off the line, you buy by GSM (grams per square metre), width and total weight rather than by piece.

Two polymers cover almost every enquiry we get:

  • PP (polypropylene) — lighter, softer, hydrophobic and lower cost. The default for bags, hygiene, furniture lining and packaging.
  • PET (polyester) — higher tensile strength, better heat resistance and dimensional stability. The default for filtration, geotextiles and automotive trim.

Both are available as virgin or GRS-certified recycled (rPP / rPET, 30-100% recycled content) with a per-batch transaction certificate.

Price, MOQ and Lead Time

Quoted per order — here is what moves the number.

Spunbond is quoted per ton, not per roll, because the price follows the weight of polymer you buy. Four variables decide your figure:

  • GSM and width — heavier and wider runs consume more polymer per metre and reduce line speed.
  • Colour route — stock shades cost less than dope-dyed custom Pantone, which needs a colour change and a 1-ton minimum.
  • Virgin vs recycled — GRS rPET and rPP carry a premium and a certification cost per batch.
  • Order volume — freight and changeover are spread thinner on larger runs.

Send GSM, width, colour and your monthly volume and you get a formal quotation within 24 hours. Standard stock in stock shades and standard specs runs 7-10 days after deposit; custom Pantone or GRS material runs 10-15 days. Peak season can add 3-5 days — confirm before you commit to a shipping date.

Minimum order is 0.5 ton for standard stock and 1 ton for custom colour. A free A4 swatch goes out for hand-feel approval; custom samples take 5-7 days.

Non Woven Roll FAQ

What buyers ask before placing a first order.

PP is softer, lighter, hydrophobic and cheaper, with a melting point around 160-165 °C. PET is stronger, holds its dimensions under heat and resists UV better, with a melting point around 250-260 °C. Choose PP for bags, hygiene and furniture; choose PET for filtration, geotextile and automotive.

Follow the application: 15-30 gsm for disposable medical, 60-100 gsm for shopping bags and furniture lining, 100-150 gsm for heavy packaging and weed control, 150-240 gsm for automotive and filtration. If you are between two bands, request a free A4 swatch and compare hand-feel before you commit.

Mother rolls up to 3.2 m wide, slit to whatever finished width your line needs. Narrow slits are available on request — tell us the target width and we confirm the slit plan.

0.5 ton for standard stock in standard specs; 1 ton for custom dope-dyed colour, because a colour change requires a dedicated run.

7-10 days after deposit for stock shades and standard specifications; 10-15 days for custom Pantone or GRS recycled material. Peak season can add 3-5 days.

Yes — rPET with 30-100% recycled content and rPP, both GRS certified, with a transaction certificate (TC) per batch so your brand claim is auditable.

Yes, dope-dyed to your reference with ΔE within 1.5. Send the Pantone code and we confirm feasibility before the run.

Online GSM monitoring runs continuously on the line, so variance is caught during production rather than at final inspection. 11 lines let us hold the band your process needs.

A free A4 swatch is available for hand-feel and GSM check. Custom samples with your colour or width take 5-7 days.
