As a guide: 70-80 gsm for home gardens and potted areas, 90-100 gsm for orchards and nurseries where durability and cost balance best, and 120 gsm and above for long-term installations with foot traffic or machinery. Heavier fabric resists tearing and UV ageing better, so it lasts longer.
With UV stabilisation, 90-100 gsm typically gives 3-5 years under normal sunlight and 120 gsm and above can exceed 5 years. Real service life depends heavily on UV intensity, whether the fabric is covered with soil and how often machinery passes over it — topping with mulch or burying it extends life considerably.
Yes. The nonwoven structure is porous, so rain and air penetrate the soil — no ponding, no root suffocation. That is one of its key advantages over plastic mulch. Watering and drip irrigation still reach the root zone; on slopes lay it with the fall so water drains.
Yes — it cuts with ordinary scissors or a blade, and seams are joined by overlapping 10-15 cm and pinned or battened down. Clear large stones and thick roots first, and weigh the edges down so wind cannot lift the fabric. We customise roll width to your bed size to cut on-site splicing.
Yes. Widths go up to 3.2 m and can be slit to any narrower size, with length made to order, so the roll matches your orchard row spacing or bed width and cuts both labour and waste. Black and green are standard: black suppresses weeds best, green looks neater and absorbs less heat. Pantone colours on request.
Our weed fabric is made primarily from polypropylene and does not release harmful substances into the soil under normal use, so it suits orchards, vegetable plots and edible crops. It is produced to export standards; tell us your destination market and we can supply the relevant test reports.
Lay It Once, Weed-Free for Seasons
UV-stabilised heavy-duty PP nonwoven for orchards, gardens and farms.
Our weed control fabric is made from heavy-duty PP spunbond nonwoven in 60-200 gsm options — 80-120 gsm is the usual choice for orchards and landscaping, while 60 gsm suits short-season nursery cover where cost matters. The UV stabiliser is compounded into the fibre during spinning rather than applied as a surface coating, so the fabric resists embrittlement and dusting through long outdoor exposure. Once laid, it suppresses weed germination while staying water- and air-permeable — rain and air reach the soil, with no root suffocation or ponding. Black gives the highest light blocking and the best weed suppression; green reads closer to turf for visible beds and landscaped areas.
We customize width and length to your field size to minimise offcut waste. When laying, overlap adjacent strips by 10-15 cm and pin them down — that closes the seam where weeds most often break through. Black, green and custom Pantone colours are available, and every order ships in rolls for easy export handling and storage. Factory-direct pricing and fast lead times make us a reliable partner for horticulture wholesalers, farms and landscaping projects.
